Our mission

More than a stay.
A place to belong.

For someone facing displacement, the hardest part isn't always asking for help. It's finding a place that sees the person before the paperwork, the service before the setback, and the future before the past.

Operation Safe Haven is a housing organization first. We provide safe, dignified housing in Northern Nevada, serving Reno, Sparks, Washoe County, and Carson City, and we work with caseworkers, government agencies, veteran organizations, nonprofits, healthcare organizations, and community partners to help each person find an appropriate placement.

Who we serve

Veterans are at the heart of our work. Our homes are open to every eligible adult ready for a stable next step.

Veterans

A respectful, veteran-centered home for those navigating displacement or housing instability.

Disabled veterans

Every placement starts with a practical conversation about accessibility, mobility, and daily routines.

Traveling professionals

Furnished housing for professionals on assignment in Northern Nevada. Pricing and availability on request.

Housing & health transitions

Adults moving out of homelessness or through a health-care transition who need a clean, calm place to land.

For caseworkers & partners

A referral process built to be clear.

Timely communication, an honest conversation about fit, and one direct point of contact. If we're not the right option, we'll say so. If we are, we'll explain the next step clearly.

  1. 01

    Reach out

Send the short form below or call. Tell us only what's needed to talk about housing fit.

  2. 02

    Fit conversation

We discuss availability, accessibility, funding, household expectations, and timing.

  3. 03

    See the home

A tour or walkthrough so the person can ask questions and decide for themselves.

  4. 04

    Next step, in writing

A clear summary of what happens next, for the resident and the referring professional.

With the resident's authorization, we coordinate with the referring caseworker on housing-related matters. Clinical care, benefits, and case management stay with the qualified agencies and professionals responsible for them.

Our homes

Safe, furnished, and ready to call home.

Our first homes are being prepared now in Northern Nevada, with the Sierra Nevada on the horizon. We only list a bed as available once it is ready for someone to move in, so current availability is confirmed during your fit conversation.

Operation Safe Haven is a housing organization. We do not provide medical treatment, behavioral-health treatment, or clinical case management. Those services stay with the qualified agencies and professionals who provide them, and we help residents connect with them.

What we provide

  • Safe, furnished housing

“Every person deserves dignity, respect, and a safe place while they work toward stability. For veterans, that mission has a special meaning to me. They served our country, they have their own story, and they deserve to be treated as a whole person—not defined by the circumstances that brought them to our door.”

Refer someone, or ask about a home for yourself.

Caseworkers, discharge planners, veteran-serving organizations, family members, and individuals are all welcome. We'll reply using the contact method you choose.

Please don't include medical details, diagnoses, or case records. We only need what's relevant to housing fit. An inquiry starts a conversation. It doesn't guarantee placement.
